Hiya, friends!
I’m sew excited to finally kick off this crafting blog and take you along on my creative journey! Yeah, I went there with the cheesy joke—guilty as charged, but hey, I’m all cheese and no “whine”! Ok, who and I kidding, some whine!
I want this space to feel like home—where craft and creativity collide—think comfy vibes with a dash of delightful chaos. I’ll be learning, making, and (of course) messing up along the way. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just starting out like me, I’d love for you to join me on this fun adventure. I’m here to share all the wins, the fails, and everything in between as I (hopefully!) create some awesome, functional, and totally cool stuff!
The Sewing Machine Chronicles
Okay so, full disclosure: I’m still getting the hang of my sewing machine again, and let’s just say there’s been a lot of unpicking and redoing along the way. But that’s the fun of it, right? As I build my skills and confidence, I’m learning new things every day-and let me tell you, there’s a lot of room for improvement!
When I was younger, I had grand dreams of being a Fashion Designer. That didn’t take off, but 7-year old me would be excited that I’m getting back into cloth crafts! I’ve done a few projects here and there over the years, but nothing nearly as fun as I’ve been trying recently.
What have I made before? Some simple garments, face masks (because what crafter didn’t during the pandemic?), a custom sized sewing mannequin , then recently purses and wallets. I’ve become absolutely obsessed with bag making! Ok, maybe I’ve done more recently than I thought
! All the more reason to start this blog and share my adventures!
In the CraftDen: My Current Crafting Arsenal!
So what am I working with down in my Den? It will probably come as no surprise that I really don’t have that much equipment. We’re starting out lean!

Brother XM2701 Sewing Machine
I really wanted to get back into sewing, but didn’t have a lot of disposable income. So this baby is my current ride or die.

Brother 3034D Serger
This machine was given to me by my mom who was a seamstress turned quilter. Not gonna like, I’m intimidated by this thing and haven’t tried using it yet! Who knows, that could be a future experiment!
That’s it really! I obviously have other small notions like scissors, thread, sewing clips (amazing investment, if you haven’t… you really should get some!), etc.
What You Can Expect Here
Thanks for letting me ramble! So, what can you look forward to on this blog?
- DIY Bag Tutorials: I’ll share step-by-step guides on making bags—probably in the form of links from other amazing creators that I’ve found along my way. If I’m feeling confident enough, maybe my own!
- Sewing Machine Tips & Tricks: Sharing What’s Worked for Me (Because I’ve made and will make a lot of mistakes!).
- Inspiration & Ideas: From fabrics I can’t stop eyeing to color schemes I’m obsessed with, I’ll be sharing inspirations for my projects as well as links to small shops and fellow creators.
- Crafting Adventures: And of course, I’ll share my personal crafting journey—learning, experimenting, and obviously my goof ups (that’s half the fun, right?).
Let’s Get Crafting!
Whew! This post turned out to be much longer than I expected. If you stuck with me to the end, I hope you’ll join me as I explore. If you’re a fellow crafter, I’d love to hear about your journey too—feel free to drop a comment below!
Thanks for being here! Stay tuned for the first bag-making project I post. (spoiler: it’s going to be super cute)!
